In Loving Memory Of Special Pets

Pets with
Diabetes

Dedicated to diabetic pets who have crossed The Rainbow Bridge.
Their spirit, and the love they shared will always be remembered.

Beanie

My Sweet Beanie...

...was diagnosed with diabetes in 1999. She took two shots of insulin, 12 units each a day. She seem to have adjusted to the shots. When time came for her injection she sometimes pranced around to let me know it was time. I think she knew it was a matter of her feeling good or being really ill.

Beanie went blind in 2000. We took her to a animal ophthalmologist in Lafayette, La. where he operated on her eyes and put in lens implants. When we got back home I took her out of the car and she went out to the driveway and just looked around all the trees and watched the leaves rustling in the wind and watched everything that moved. She always went fishing with me until she went blind and one day jumped out of the boat in the lake. Fortunately I was able to get her back in. After her surgery she continued to fish with me.

Beanie died in April, 2003 at age 14. I don't ever think I have grieved over anyone like I have her. I just thank God every day that He allowed her to be part of my life for 14 years. We buried her in our back yard and bought a monument with her picture on it. I know one day we will meet again because God created these special creatures to bring joy and love in our lives and He provides a place for all of his creations.

With loving thought and memories I am....
