In Loving Memory Of Special Pets

Pets with
Diabetes

Dedicated to diabetic pets who have crossed The Rainbow Bridge.
Their spirit, and the love they shared will always be remembered.

Sparky

This is SparkySparky, my best friend and buddy in the whole wide world.
He is a miniature schnauzer that is 13 years old. He was recently diagnosed with having diabetes during the week of June 30th. His blood glucose levels were off the charts and he had high cholesterol, cataracts in both eyes, and an inflamed pancreas. The vets gave us two options. We could either give him insulin shots which could lead into costing a lot of money or we could put him to sleep. I am against putting animals of any kind to sleep but at the same time, we really do not have the funds to keep Sparky healthy.

In the time that he was with us, he blessed us with his cheerfulness and funny acrobatics. I always liked how he would have temper tantrums and stomp his feet around running back and forth to and from the front door.

The many years of college kept me away from you. If I only would have known sooner of what fate lies next door, I wouldn't have signed up for this summer session (2003). On returning home from college on the 4th of July weekend, I noticed right away that you were nothing more than skin and bones hanging on so hard to life itself. I am so sorry Sparky. As God as my witness and you in my heart forever, I will find a cure for diabetes.

Good bye little buddy. I will miss you. We will all miss you. Life from this point forward will be tough for us but for you, dear Sparky, you have crossed over into greener pastures. Say hi to Erlenmeyer for me and Godspeed!
